Use a VPN while working remotely

Obtain a VPN whenever you're connected to a network that you don't control. That includes Wi-Fi in public areas, at hotels, schools and other establishments. Organizations often possess VPNs that off-site workers must have to access certain servers or websites that store important information meant only for internal use. In those cases, you should also have a VPN ready for use. It is best to get into the habit of leaving your VPN connected as often as possible because it's always safer to have it on than not.
